The Mommy,Where's My Dad Origin Story

When I stepped into parenthood, I carried a quiet worry: Will I be enough? I wanted to raise a child who feels safe, loved, grounded, and confident—even when life gets tough. Some days, that responsibility felt heavy, and I wondered how I could do it all on my own.

Over time, I learned I wasn’t meant to. I built a circle of support around us—faith, family, friends, teachers, and community and I began to see what so many families discover: love doesn’t come from just one place. It comes from a village.

There were still hard moments to walk through especially those involving loss, absence, or questions without easy answers. I wanted my child to know that even when someone we love isn’t present, we can still hold on to what remains steady: the people who show up, the and all of the wonderful moments in life that bring joy.

However, I struggled to find books that made the notion easier for my son to understand, so I started writing down the conversations we shared. Over several months, those collection of pages became Mommy, Where’s My Dad? a gentle story to help families talk about big feelings, and to remind every child: you are not alone, and your village is real.

When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to these." Mark 10:14
